It started with a dream...
I love Freddy Krueger. He is my abosolute favorite horror slasher. I am also asexual, which - to me - means I feel little to no sexual attraction to anyone regardless of gender identity or presentation. And do you know what you might say to someone trying to get with you but you don't want them? "In your dreams." Freddy Krueger invades dreams... That gave me an idea for my first design.
My boyfriend likes Jason Voorhees. He is also Polyamorous which - to him - means he is capable of loving multiple people at once. Jason could kill multiple people at once... That gave me my second idea. From there, I looked up the most popular horror icons and matched them up to sexualities and gender identities based on what they might represent or which iconic quotes might be able to be changed to fit a sexuality or gender identity.
Michael Myers = agender because The Shape doesn't need a gender. They're just spooky. Leatherface = transgender because no matter if someone transitions or can pass - they love their face, mask or not. Chucky = gay because you really can't keep a good guy - or gay - down. Ghostface = bisexual because they're not indecisive - they just are (a killer). Carrie = aromantic because romance gives aros pimples. Ew. Jigsaw = pansexual because they don't need to make a choice and they aren't playing a game. Pinhead = non-binary because cenobites don't conform to social norms like gender Regan = lesbian because let's be real- women have the power to compel anyone.
I launched my merch store on May 13th, 2024 to celebrate my 4 year streaming anniversary! It has stickers, sweaters, and t-shirts featuring my twitch emotes and other designs created by either myself or the incredibly talented Lexiwolfz! You can buy my NightmarishPride merch, too, in preparation for June! Speaking of Pride - I will be participating in a Raid Train for those on the Ace/Aro spectrum during the first 2 weeks in June.
